DRIVER NARROWLY AVOIDS SERIOUS INJURY AFTER CONCRETE THROWN AT HIS CAR

Callum Jackson had a lucky escape when a concrete block was thrown at his car, smashed throw his windscreen and landed on the back seat of his car.

He was travelling on an A-road at the time and it’s thought that the rock was thrown from the bridge. He was lucky to only suffer bruising to his ribs and that he was able to keep control of his car. It’s also lucky that he did not have any passengers at the time.

West Mercia Police are investigating and want to speak to other drivers that were on the same stretch of the road at the time. Chief Inspector Keith Gee said: “Throwing anything, especially concrete blocks at passing vehicles is an extremely dangerous practice.”

A concrete block being thrown is a malicious thing to do however, even small items of rubbish could be potentially dangerous. Anything that could obstruct a driver’s view or allow them to lose control of the car could have serious consequences.
